Whether you are looking for action and excitement or tranquility and peace, fun on land and water, the place has it all. The river Ganga meanders through the rugged Shivalik hills, with lush deciduous forests of sal and bamboo on either side. The resort is built blending into the landscape, in synthesis with the environment.

Ganga Banks riverside resort

This is India's first eco & environment friendly 4 star resort in the serene Himalayan foothills on the Ganga ( 6 hrs drive from Delhi). The resort is aesthetically built out of local raw material like stone, rocks, slate etc. to preserve a truly natural look. Not a single tree has been cut. In fact, some cottages have incorporated a tree in the bedroom or the balcony. Interiors are totally Eco friendly. The swimming pool is like a Tarzan's jungle pond with all the modern mechanics of filtration & hygiene but made to look rustic with rocks and boulders being used for seating, bar etc. with a natural tree also growing out of it. Use of plastics and polythene are banned at the resort. Instead food and drinks are served in Eco friendly containers. Hand made and recycled paper serves as stationary. Waste water is used for greening the lawns. All biodegradable food waste is buried. Guests are requested to plant a sapling each as part of check in formalities. Solar heaters and other alternative sources of energy like solar cookers etc. are also used. Ayurvedic massage and herbal beauty therapy is being introduced shortly at the health center. The resort has 30 cottages, a swimming pool, conference center, a scenic restaurant, a health spa and 40 feet tall machaans for distant overall view of the river valley and the jungle beyond. Being at the gateway to the Garhwal Himalayas, the resort is used for a wide range of activities like river rafting, expeditions, treks into Garhwal, quiet retreats, trips into the Corbett National Park & the Chilla Park close by, to visit the popular hill stations of Mussoorie, Lands downe etc. or as stops for the char Dham visits namely Kedarnath, Badrinath, Gangotri & Yamnotri. Ganga Banks is India's finest example of a luxurious yet environment friendly Eco retreat in the serene Himalayan foothills.
