Location: The Cliff Top Club Resort is located in Auli Uttranchal at an attitude of about 10,000 feet in India's most scenic location on the snow clad Himalayas. In
winters (from December end till mid March) the motor road from Joshimath
to Auli is not operational due to heavy snowfall. Cable car is the only
mode of transportation from Joshimath to Auli. The last trip of the
cable car leaves from Joshimath to the Resort at 4:00 pm (July-April)
and 6:30 pm (May & June). Tourists must reach Joshimath before the last
trip of cable car. Tourists reaching late may have to stay in Joshimath
overnight. Members visiting Clifftop Club Resort have to alight from
tower number eight of the cable car. Tower
number eight is a high tower and the aged may find it difficult to use
the stairs and walk down to resort in snow. Members are also kindly
advised to be careful with small children while getting down or climbing
up the tower. The road from Joshimath to Clifftop Club (17 Km) is a
steep climb from about 5000 feet to 10,000 feet above sea level. The
road to Clifftop Club is a difficult hill track. If the Members wish
to use their own conveyance to come to the Resort, we strongly recommended
a 4-wheel drive/Jeep/Ambassador car but not a luxury/small car. Members
can also leave their vehicles in the parking area at the Rope way Park
at Joshimath and travel to Clifftop Club by ropeway to tower number
eight with their luggage. The ropeway is Asia's highest and second largest,
and charges Rs. 300/- (May-June) and 200/-(Rest) per person for a round
trip. The other alternative is to travel by road from Joshimath to Garhwal
Mandal Vikas Nigam's Tourist Reception Center at Auli (14 km). The exciting
and funfilled chair lift ride from there to Clifftop Club costs Rs.
80/= per person for a round trip. Members can hire a Jeep/Sumo from
Joshimath to reach Clifftop Club which roughly costs Rs. 500 (five hundred
only). By Road : The best option is to travel from Delhi by road. Delhi to Haridwar is 229 kms. on National Highway no. NH-47. The climb from Haridwar to Joshimath is 257 kms. and takes about 13 to 15 hours. The ascent to Joshimath winds through Rishikesh, Srinagar, Karnaprayag, and Chamoli. Joshimath to Clifftop Club Resort is 17 km by road or 4 km and 15 minutes by cable car. We suggest a stay at Rishikesh/Rudraprayag to break the journey if required. By Train : Nearest Railway Station is Rishikesh / Haridwar which is connected from Delhi by Shatabdi Exp., from Bombay by Bandra-Dehradun Exp. and from Calcutta by Howrah-Doon Exp. and from Lucknow by Gorakhanath/Doon Exp. Rishikesh to Joshimath by road. Road from Joshimath to Badrinath opens Mid May-mid November subjected to normal snowfall. By Air : Nearest Airport is Jolly Grant near Dehradun (280 Km). Indian Airlines fly thrice from Delhi and Jagson/Archna Airways also regulates their flights. Very soon a new airport at Gauchar (92 Km.) will be operational within a year. Accommodation:
